  Video essay was founded by Matthew Roberts to accompany academic research into the Visual/Video Essay. 

  
  

  The video essay includes explanation films, ‘how-to’ films, information films, and guides. It can extend to cover most short films with a narrative.

  n.b. - My words and writing (e.g. case studies and the essays) are copyright free. They are filled with references to other works which are most likely not copyright free. Essays have full bibliographies and citations. Video embeds can be traced back to their owners via the Vimeo/YouTube links.
